    Biography
I began sailing Hobie cats and dinghies at a young age, racing around the NJ/NY/PA region. Moving into college I founded the sailing club at the University of Pittsburgh and competed at the collegiate level. While studying abroad for a semester in Wellington, New Zealand I got introduced to "big boat" racing and cruising, and spent several months sailing regularly on a variety of sportboats, racers, and racer/cruisers. Returning to the states in 2011 I completed ASA courses up to Bareboat Chartering, and became a US Sailing Instructor. I began cruising more regularly with family and friends and following my graduation from university in May 2014, began a year off before medical school to sail and travel. Since May 2014, I've been essentially cruising nonstop and working as a delivery Captain/crew all over the USA East Coast from Maine to Florida, all of the Caribbean, and to Latin America. I've logged approx. 14,000 nm offshore by now in the last 8 or 9 months of sailing and have captained/crewed on a variety of vessels ranging from 25ft to 60ft. I have completed four Bareboat charters via The Moorings in the Abacos, Bahamas, and several other charters in the FL Keys, Boston region, and BVIs - part of a small charter business taking college-aged friends and young professions sailing for a week. I also deliver sailboats semi-professionally, and have extensive knowledge of all marine systems. I'm very comfortable with diesel mechanics, navigation (electronic, paper, and celestial), marine plumbing, electrical, carpentry, fiberglass repair, rigging, cooking, cleaning, etc. I am confident in my boat-handling and storm sailing competence in any conditions, having encountered a wide variety of sea conditions in the least 8 months of nonstop cruising. I am also a registered EMT, and comfortable handling medical situations.

Outside of sailing, I'm an avid outdoorsman with interests ranging from climbing, backpacking, kayaking, mountain biking, fishing, spearfishing, snorkeling/diving, and exploring exotic cultures and places. I truly love introducing non-sailor friends to the sport, and have become comfortable teaching while underway. The journey is just as important as the destination, and I always make sure friends have a good time underway during our passage.

I have owned numerous Sunfish, Lasers, Hobies, and a Catalina 25 and sailing on dozens of boat models - Catalina, Beneteau, Hunter, Jenneau, Oyster, Swan, Sweden Yachts, Tayana, Westsail, Pacific Seacraft, 12m custom, etc etc.
