    You do realize that the only two requirements for a boat is that 1) it floats and 2) you fit in it. Don't know your age but with this activity, I suggest you start sooner rather than later - while the body is still agreeable. So sell the house, get a boat and enjoy life. For my part, if finances are tight, I can always become a Walmart greeter after sailing. This forum is chock-full of tips, tricks and advice on how to make it happen - just don't eat or drink while reading the stuff here. Can make you spit out whatever you have in your mouth. lol

    I've been sailing for almost as long as I can remember - one of my earliest memories is sailing with my dad on a sunfish. Sailed progressively larger boats belonging to my parents for many years until age led them to the dark side a few years ago and they sold their sailboat to buy a trawler. I recently bought a Dickerson 36 ketch, which I hope to sail far and wide.
