    Bonjour Paul,

Rgleason redirected me to you for this request:

As you are moderator, mabe you can make some arrangements in the forum database for this request:

I am uploading the version 2.3 of Xinutop (dedicated marine OS) and some others utilities. As I had not experience about forums in 2012 when I started, I have create many threads with this same subject and I have observed that it's confusing and some people ask me questions which they are in an other thread.

Is it possible to join all concerned threads in only one, classified by date and called "Xinutop, dedicated marine OS" ?

If it's possible, I send you all the messages references.

If you can't do it, could you indicate me the good person for that ?

    Have a good day
    Amicalement
    Franck

    Wait a minute...I'm owned by 3 cats.
Quelching an old interest in sailing.
Probably more kuriosity at my age than fact.
Have to see where it leads me.

    Dear Paul,
I would like to find out how to make a "sticky" thread for Opencpn "Plugin Links" to make it easier to find the appropriate thread for posting questions about specific plugins.

    Can you help me?

    Thanks.

A quick update - I did connect everything up and it seemed to work fine. I did not transmit from the ram mic though - kind of waiting to hear if you have anything to say.

It was the case that when I spoke to ICOM about this situation they told me it would not work. It was too late in the day for me to call the SH tech support; I'll ask them on Monday

Hello Paul. Since I have seen you write about electrical stuff on the forum I was wondering if you would be willing to try to answer a question for me regarding ram mics and cable connections?

Basically my M504 went out and I am replacing it with a SH GX2200. I also got a ram mic for the SH, but in my attempt not to have to run the new remote cable, I just tried plugging the existing ICOM cable into the back of the radio. It looks to be a "standard" 8 pin, and it fit fine. I could also plug the SH ram mic into the ICOM socket on the steering pedestal. Is there any reason I need to use a proprietary cable for the ram mic? I realize the colors may not line up with the mfgr. list - but since there is a placement "detent" in each of the connections I am assuming that the electrical transmissions (mike, volume, DSC and AIS stuff, etc) would flow into the correct receptacle for the ram mic.

    Am I nuts?
