Biography

I am an automation engineer and fell in love with sailing after buying a hobiecat at an auction. I now sail my 18 foot G-Cat miles offshore in Michigan and Florida and got it in my head to work towards early retirement and cruising on something much more substantial. I started a fiberglass supply company (Griffco Products - see us on Amazon) in order to reach this goal. Now I am on track to achieve this in 2024 or 2025 (my youngest will be off to college and I will no longer be needed). I have never actually sailed a monohull before and, as a result of this, I am predisposed to getting a catamaran for cruising. I will likely be alone so I need something under 40' (I like FP Athena 38's) and will have to set it up for single handing - unless I can teach my dog how to handle sails.
I still work my day job and run my company too. It is hard but I focus on my dream every morning and it keeps me driving forward. it has worked for the last 4 years and needs to carry me through the final stretch.
