Just my two cents, cut check out Cal sailboats if there are any available up there. No keel bolts, solid fiberglass hulls, etc.. I just like the way they're built. Your mileage may vary.

Saw your post and thought I'd pass this on. We own a Valiant Esprit 37. We've sailed Reflections for 22 years, nearly 50k miles and visited more than 45 different. The V37 is definitely a blue water cruiser and might be a good choice for you if you can find one. We have decided we are ready to hang up our sailing gloves and will be putting Reflections up for sail soon. She is fully cruise equipped. Only problem for you is we are currently in Malaysia. Do some research on the V37 and if you have any interest send me message.

    Biography
Hello to all fellows sailors out there, due to some of the responses we’ve been getting about our posts and our questions I would like to clarify a few things.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are not in the market to buy a sailboat at this point. To clarify for those who may be interested as to why we feel this way.

My wife is an only child and her mother is 83 years old. We simply do not feel comfortable at this point in her life leaving her alone to sail the world. It is for this reason and this reason alone we were having to postpone our dream of sailing the world. As a result we are putting all the time and energy into learning to sail with the knowledge that when the time is right and we have the freedom we will be able to move quickly and efficiently towards the sailing lifestyle. We are only clarifying this, because we have had people get in touch with us interested in selling their boats.

We are extremely grateful that those in this situation would reach out to us , but do not want to get anyone’s hopes up and would like to be clear and where we stand as future sailors. We appreciate all the feedback we get on boats that are available. Will you be happy to look at photos and learn more about your boat and why you did or didn’t like it why you are selling it to go bigger or smaller any of those things would be greatly appreciated. However we just wanted to make it clear that due to circumstances beyond our control the purchase of a sailboat for us is it present perhaps a few years away thank you for your time and all your support in our endeavour to seal the world and in whatever way we manage when the time is right
