Morning, this is Capt. T in FLA. My brother suddenly passed away in Vancouver. He had a 30 Fraser with new engine. I have receipts from him and the previous owner. Still needs work and TLC. One of the guys here said you were looking for a boat. I can't get there due to the Covid19 restrictions. Let me know if this is something you might be interested in . Many thanks, Capt.T. Sorry, just saw your PM on 4/21.

The Catalina 25 had many changes since it's introduction somewhere around 1976. While the hull and many of it's rigs components are the same, many upgrades were added during it's manufacturing run. Some cosmetic, some structural. However, most models will sail about the same.

For example, some older models have the fuel tank in the port lazarette, later models had a dedicated fuel locker. Models produced before 1986 had glass windows with aluminum frames, very prone to leakage, later models had acrylic windows, while still able to leak, are much easier to repair.

The 1989 model had addressed most of the problems of the earlier models and had a few differences that many might not notice. For example, that model had three more inches of head room in the main cabin. Not super important, but an advantage.

If I were to buy another C25, it would most likely be a 1986 or later model, preferably a wing keel.

    Good luck with your search.

    Hello!

I just read your thread and was interested because I just purchased my first boat in February. I was looking for something inexpensive and with a slip (I live in Everett and the wait in the Everett Marina is over a year!).

The sailor in the next slip just placed his boat for sale - $3,500, plus the slip is transferable. It's about the same size as my Catalina 27, has an outboard motor and a furling jib (which I truly envy - I don't have one).

Anyway, if you'd like, I can get the phone number for you. I've spoken to the owner - a nice older gentleman who loved sailing, but it was just getting to be to difficult physically for him to continue.

    Brent
