Ive been sailing for about 10 years and instructing for 3 years in dinghies. I have experience in keelboats, cats, line handling, rigging, staff management, maintenance, and more.
After years of college, flight school, wildland firefighting, sailing instructing, and other jobs, I have moved away from all of that in favor of obtaining a captains license.
Currently, I am delivering sailboats around the Caribbean and east and west coast US. I am willing to help with deliveries, pleasure trips, and anything in between.
I am easy going and level headed through tough situations. 16 hour paper mill graveyard shifts and 28 hour firefighting shifts while covered in poison oak have not been enough to change that. And of course teaching 20 screaming children in separate boats drifting apart wasn't either (I taught ages 8 to 18). When crap hits the fan in the middle of the night on the ocean I am ready to take in sail, start the engine, and do whatever needs to be done. I have experience with 4 on 4 off watch schedules.
I love working as a team in both a professional and casual environment as either a leader or a team player.
I don't smoke or drink. I pack light and come with all my own hot and cold weather sailing gear. I'm competent in the galley though I'll not market myself as a chef. Not prone to sea sickness, and I'm on a see-food diet, as in if I see food, I'll eat it no matter what it is.
