Can you please suggest the best tool for scrubbing calcium deposits (the little worm like stuff) inside the bronze thru hull fittings.

    Thanks in advance.

I became a certified scuba diver last summer primarily to do my own boat work, but I've come to enjoy it very much and will be planning our future excursions around exploring the undersea world. Now I just need find a buddy. Ken

    Hi There Matey,

I was wondering if you could tell me the name, brand etc of the pump picture that you put into the dive hookah thread.

I already have a hookah on my boat but was thinking to change the compressor and that one that you pictured looks like something worthwhile.

I have been looking here in australia for a while and the closest thing that i have found like your picture is a fish tanbk pumps but there way to small.

Thanks in advance for any info,

    Matthew

    Hi Fast Bottoms:

I'm considering dumping out of the CF after a moderator here seems intent on putting silly restrictions on links in some of my posts. I see that you also post on Sailnet site and was wondering how you like it?

Thanks for the advice, I'll follow up with the white pad. I lost a fin that was too big the first time down just snorkel cleaning. Just had to watch it drift down into the great abyss. It's nice while in California to pay someone to do the work, had a great company in So. Cal, but here in the Med the divers want 200 euros ($275 USD), so everyone does it themselves for obvious reasons. Thanks again!

    Hi there,

Noob question here... Assuming I buy the gear, and get some scuba training, how reasonable would it be for me to expect to be able to clean my own hull (38ft fin keel)? I'm on a swinging mooring out in Singapore... in a busy shipping channel... Just weighing my options as I'd like to upgrade my skills to keep costs down.

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    James
