    Biography
Sailed as crew for first time 2011 on friends boat from Falmouth to Milford Haven which I enjoyed Immensely and only felt a bit queasy on first day and then totally fine. Did some club racing for a season and also voluntary work with sailing charity for visually impaired people which I also enjoyed immensely. Sailed on Tall ship as watch keeping crew from the Azores to Southampton which was fantastic and also on another Tall ship (Tenacious) from Jersy to Southampton as a voluntary apprentice engineer, also a great experience. Bought my first learner boat (Shuna) in 2014 and spent time fixing her up and doing a lot of day sailing. Did my RYA day skipper theory and practical but unfortunately have not done much sailing since . I sold Shuna the winter before last and now I am looking to gain some more experience before getting a bigger boat.
I have recently come back from a seven week passage from Milford Haven in Wales to Ireland then up the coast and across to Scotland and up to the Caledonian canal through beautiful scenery with lots of wildlife. We then had an amazing nine day trip up and down the canal sailing through Loch Ness where I saw my first Golden Eagle !! We then sailed back down the Scottish west coast and across to Ireland and then a long day, night, day passage back to Milford Haven which we experienced sizeable swells which I thought was fantastic, I have never felt so alive !! By the time we got to the marina it was dark but we got into the birth ok and had a wee dram before getting a well earned rest. We then had five days in the marina doing various repairs before doing the last leg to Newlyn near Falmouth another overnighter which went really well in a nice breeze and fine weather. I enjoyed the trip immensly and got very fit as there were only me and the skipper working a 47 ft Beneteau, the biggest yacht I've been on so far. I learned a lot on that trip and would like to do more and try and improve my passage planning and navigation skills whilst keeping an eye out for the type of boat that I will eventually buy to cruise on.
