    Hi , just saw your note-sorry for the delay in responding. I rebuilt thee fine myself and just farmed out the machining (decked the block, pressing and honing of pistons). All in, with parts, cleaners etc I say 3500 to 4000. ButI did everything else-removal, assembly and reinstall. I’m not a mechanic-just a somewhat skilled amateur and I had a good space to work and a lot of time on my hands. It’s pretty easy work once you get the engine out of the boat.     I've owned sailboats since 1985 starting with a Sea-Snark to currently a 1979 Pearson 365 I bought March, 2017. Am currently getting to know the boat and my wife and I intend to do week-long cruises for the next 6-8 months to shake down the boat. Cruising grounds will be Gulf Coast, Dry Tortugas, Keys and Bahamas for the next several years. After that ???
