Hey Clipperton,

My wife and I are thinking about living on a mahe 36 cat in NY and living full time. I read on the forum that you are living in NY on your cat. I've seen some picture of the harbor frozen over. Annual rates at liberty seemed very reasonable at $660 a month for a 36 ft boat - didn't see anything about extra fees for cats. I read that jan is coldest month usually in NY. Is it crazy to stay the winter? Have you had problems with ice? Any must haves as far as boat items? ie propane or diesel heating? What marinas allow winter liveaboards? I'm actually in NY now, my wife arrives in a couple of weeks. Perhaps we could meet up.
