    If you can find a sound BCC in your price range (exist but not common ) and you are comfortable with the interior just stop and buy it. A lot of the advice for a "larger" boat appear to be from people not familiar with the design . The BCC is a 36 ft boat (that's the base of the sail plan) with the hull shaved off under the bowsprit and boomkin (or whatever you call the triangle of wood extending aft to extend the aft fitting out) with a disp of 14000(design)-16000 lbs(loaded)
    It's a joy in ocean swells.
