- Hi everyone, my name is Greg I've been in the Navy for 17 years.
My wife and I are looking forward to retirement.
She and I have spent alot of our lives on the water. Her on large cruisers and me on submarines and sailboats.
We are tired of the house life and would like to live simply on the water for some time.
I'd ideally like to get something in the mid 40s, steel hulled, sloop or cutter, 2 cabins, with a pilot house for nasty weather.
I'll retire with a 35k income and good benefits.
My navy experience has given me many talents that will (hopefully) serve me well. I'm a universally certified HVA/C, Diesel engine, Hydraulic tech. I'm very familiar with pottable, pneumatic and sanitary systems. Also one of the Navy's experts on steering systems.
I hope all these skills will help us keep maintenance and refit costs down and possibly bring extra cash flow.
I'm excited to learn from the experienced cruisers here.
