My new boat is in Grenada. I will likely sail up islands to the USA to get acquainted with her, then set off past Bermuda to the Azores, then back to UK but I hate the weather here. If my finances work out I might just cross into the Pacific and just keep going.
Those dust storms can't be fun at all.

All hank on foresails, full set of sails in good to very good condition. Needs a haulout and antifoul and paint. 4 Lewmar single speed winches are very old but all working, not self-tailing. Has a hypalon dinghy with Tohatsu 3.5 outboard. Main engine Perkins Perama M30 with new waterpump and alternator belt, not known the hours but originally installed by the previous owner new in 1995. Runs and purrs like a workhorse. Anchor windlass is manual (Lewmar). She's on sailboatlistings for £13995.00 but I will take a reasonable offer. I could sail her away single handed right now but she needs a haulout for the antifoul and pain job. Would also be better to get two self tailers and she also needs a lazy bag. 2 Genoas, storm sail, trysail, spinnaker and two spinnaker poles. 4-man Seago liferaft but out of date.

Well friend, they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. I've changed all lights to LED's, fitted a brand new autopilot and quite a bit more but an opportunity has come up I cannot turn down. If you know of anyone who wants to buy an Excalibur 36 with brand new autopilot, LED's, new bilge pump, new marine deep cycles and new start battery, let me know. Sadly, a good sailing friend is dying and I have bought his Nicholson 38 for an absolute song. He spared no pennies on her and she has absolutely everything. It's a no-brainer, so I am flying out to her in the Caribbean in April. You still in Portugal?

Good to hear back from you. I solo sailed her without an autopilot from Ireland to Eastbourne in February, man did I get cold at the helm! I was pleased with her performance and tracking. She's very sea kindly and with genoa and main my top speed was 9.4knots! Admittedly the seas were quite flat and the wind was on the beam at around 15 knots. I have given myself three years then I want her ready for a solo circumnavigation.

Hi Boatman, I hope you are well? Long time since I was on here. Whereabouts are you? I am on my "new" boat in Eastbourne UK. It's a Van De Stadt Excalibur 36. Slightly stronger than the modern boats lol.

Gotcha ... just sounded like a thing you might do.
