The boat we dismasted wasn't a Catalina 30. The owners boat (my racing partner) is a Cal 2-30 which is a tall rig. The spar measures 38 ft - 4 inches and is deck mounted with a compression post inside the cabin.

We did find another spar we can reconfigure locally here from a boat being salvaged. It needs to be reconfigured somewhat but is similar in dimensions.
