Hello Rognvald, I was interested in your posts re; Edson radial wheel (777-8) replacement since I am contemplating same on my C&C 33 in order to drop the rudder for replacement/repair. I have a solid stainless rudder post but the stainless bolts in the collar are seized so I am considering using a 22mm hole saw to cut around them down to the split in the collar and thus enable removal. Of course this is going to destroy the wheel but due to the very limited space available seems the only solution. I've thought about drilling them out but the likelihood of keeping the drill straight on the bolt with the space available is not good. Also getting the "standard size" issue from Edson, however I believe the post to be 2 3/8 or 2.375" with a 1/4" keyway, so I'm pretty sure it must be a "standard size." ( getting some slightly different readings with the micrometer, but difficult to measure in place ) Any advice?
