My home port is Gloucester MA. This winter my wife and I will cruise the Bahamas starting mid January.

I was able to get insurance for many years from Markel American through their Waterline division. It covered me to 100 miles offshore of the US east coast as far south as Key West FL. Unfortunately I was cancelled after an collision with another vessel but they were very good prior to that.

You might try Seven Seas Cruisers Association for a lead as they were helpful in placing me with a Lloyd's underwriter 25 years ago when I first bought Triad.

I am about to buy a Newick Native ( 38ft ) and I am very excited about it, but I can't find any insurance company who is willing to insure the boat!
Do you have an insurance? If so, could you point me in the right direction ?
I plan to sail in the caribbean for the winter so I want to be insured.
