I was hoping you might have had the boat safety moored. Just good to see you and the crew are OK. You can always find another boat and have a good reason to go recover the gear!

Ahoy Shane, my crew and I are ok, but the boat has been washed onto a beach and the keel cracked off, so we have salvaged what we could and left ther gear in Padang, the locals will have the boat now?

Hope the tsunami missed your boat and you are back safe – sounds like a real mess over there?

    Captain Keith,

Thanks for the friends invite! Totally bizzzare; I have surfed with a lot of hardcore indo crew since I was a kid, but never gone myself. Probably worried about seeing the same faces. Seeing you out there superfit, charging and sailing round out your own free-will is telling me I have a few years to get there yet? I suppose the saying goes, "have boat can sail"?

Ahoy shane, it's actually very easy to do, 6 days sailing from Langkawi, and it really is very , very easy to live here, use lots of fans in the boat and I sleep under a rug, right on the equator. The surf is so good it is almost unbelievable?

    Captain Keith,

Bloody inspiring post about Sumatra. How I would like to be out there in my yacht surfing those waves on my 60th!
