I just read a 2012 post of yours stating how you bought a 40 foot cruising boat and learned to sail on it. Other than sailing a Catalina 25 on a lake for a couple of years, my husband and I have helped friends sail their 40' catamarans for weeks at a time around Florida, Florida Keys, and also from St. Lucia to Grenada so we are a bit further along than you were when buying your first boat. We are trying to purchase a Lagoon 440 and are checking on insurance. We've been turned down by United Marine Underwriters because they want us to have already owned, operated and not had any claims on a large boat for at least 2 years. Would you mind letting me know what insurance company covered you in the beginning?
