It's beautiful here now. Perfect weather for just taking a few non-sailing friends out for an afternoon sail on the bay. I'm hanging out in Apalachicola, FL, for awhile, working a part-time job at the Apalachicola Maritime Museum taking folks on boat rides. I'm hoping to save enough for wind vane steering. Hurricane season is coming up in a couple of months and this is a good place to hide out during that time so I may stay put til next winter. Then moving on.

I don't miss all the varnishing and painting. I had that with my old wooden boat (oh, but she was beautiful!). Happy with a little plastic friend who mostly stays fixed when I fix her.

Enjoy hearing from a fellow sailor getting ready for the season though. Half the joy is in the preparation! I just am happy to keep it simple!
