    No, I went up 15 hp, from 30 to 45. A yanmar 4JH2E is a 45 hp, four cylinder

    Yes I have gone to the Morgan38 web site and done several of the updates, like the fridge seal and several others. Great site for 38's.
    I don't think I would go down in power to a 15hp, but I'm sure your fuel usage has improved. Here in the PNW, with the tidal currents we need the HP to get through the currents.

    I had a Yanmar 3 but replaced it myself with a used Yanmar 4JH2E that I picked up in excellent condition. 15 more HP, 170 lbs less weight and current parts inventory. My project for this spring is refrigeration and maxprop. Do you go onto the Morgan38.org website? It is a vast resource of info for our boats. Send me an email and I will send pics of my boat and its improvements, if you like.
