It really depends on how much ice you need to make. We had an Engel 40 and it was marginal... if I really kept on top of things, it was fine, but if I missed a day we would get behind. Right now, however, I'm not certain I would go with a Dometic. I don't know what I would go with since I didn't have the best luck with Engel either. I'm a bit annoyed right now...

Since all I need it for is to make ice....would this work do you think?
What I'm doing is removing the existing fridge equipment from the existing built in fridge unit on my boat, because it needs replacing, and going your route to keep things cold.
