    Greetings Brad.
Unfortunately I did not see this message until recently, I was resetting a password and went through my profile, I'm not sure why it didnt show up as an alert.
I stripped the teak deck, ground off the failing gelcoat and laid down a layer of glass with vinylester resin. Then sanded/faired and painted with a finish coat of non-skid.
I was quite satisfied with the results.
We have been in the Caribbean for about two years now.
Did you ever buy that boat?

I came about your thread on the purchase of your new (to you) Pedrick 47 while doing research towards my own future purchase of a sistership. Reading through your thread, you mentioned you may have a project ahead of you repairing/replacing the teak decks on your boat.

I work for a company named Teakdecking Systems. We build custom teak decks, both for new builds and for re-fit projects. See:

    teakdecking.com

In addition to decking we offer caulking and epoxy adhesives formulated specifically for teak decking applications.

Please do not hesitate to give me a call to discuss your teak work going forward. My number is 941-756-0600. Ask for Brad.

This is not meant to be a commercial post or solicitation, only an offer to provide advice. Like I mentioned, I am researching a future purchase of a Pedrick 47 for retirement and cruising with my wife. I nearly purchase one in 2000 to cruise with my family throughout the Caribbean.

Let me know if I can be of help.

    Brad
