Hi Pete, Yes, my boat has a Chinese junkrig. Some like to call them a Chinese lug rig.
We have owned our slip for the last five years. Overall I have to say I've been happy with the choice to buy, given the price I paid. On the plus side we've had a new board for the last four years and they have finally addressed some deferred maintenance issues and brought some fun activities to the marina in the summer. On the other hand the board is much less live aboard friendly. We don't live aboard now, but have in the past and bought there for the option to live aboard. A slip owner can still live aboard, but only after they've owned for awhile. To be fair, there were some issues with a small number of rental live aboards. You, as an owner, can rent your slip but not to a live aboard, which makes it harder to rent. The last point I would make is that it is a coop, with all the good and bad that entails; you basically have something like 400 co-owners.

I saw you mention your slip in Anchorage Marina.
I very much liked staying in the marina last year, and hope to make return trips, as I keep my 32 foot sloop in Deltaville, but my son and extended family are in Baltimore City.
Do you mind, as a slip owner, telling me if you are satisfied with the management of the marina? Everyone there did a great job for me, and I was satisfied.
I have a friend who owns a slip and he is divesting other properties, and may be interested in selling his slip. If my wife can be sold on the idea, I may like to buy my friend's slip, and use it off season, renting during season.
Can you offer any comments?
Love the picture of the boat - do you call that junk-rigged, or lugger?
