Family Circumnavigation - 2011 East coast/Caribbean departure

For those sailors with children that are planning a sailing cruise and will find themselves on the East coast of the USA and/or in the Caribbean in mid to late 2011 and into 2012. Or somewhere around the world along the way.

Our family, the Leonard Family, is planning a 3 year circumnavigation beginning in the summer of 2011. At the time of departure, we will have three boys with us, ages 5, 9 and 11.

The goal of this group is to start to build a community of families with similar plans, who are interested is running into each other along the way. (Hopefully not literally.)

Whilst Host Skippers are happy to share their time, experience and lifestyle - also financially subsidising Crew Guests is above and beyond! Therefore Crew Guests also subscribe to The Ethos by meeting the expense of their time aboard, not simply for immediate consumables (food, drink etc) but also towards the boat running costs.

Sailing Naked

Ok this group might not be for everyone, but I think there are enough people in the boating community that do sail naked. To warrent this group.

Wheather its women and men being topless or totally nude. There are those of us that enjoy the freedom of sailing in our birthday suits and sun bathing naked.

I am sure I am not the only one with a " Willy T" T-shirt.

Living Aboard & Cruising With Pets

Hi we are fairly new to living aboard and cruising and are sailing with our best friend Skye. Skye is a 10 year old Golden Retriever, who is sure she is part kitten and part human. We are on a fast learning curve and about to head to the Bahamas and Carribean. As yet we have little advice to share with you but hope to learn and then pass on our knowledge to others. Also meet others on our adventures along the way.

Sailing partnership

Anyone out there who would like to share ownership 50/50 of a 45ft catamaran which we could choose together and agree on sailing usage, etc? I hope I don't sound too vague but I would like to hear back from as many people as possible to see what can be arranged so if you would like to own a catamaran but don't think you would get sufficient usage to make it financially viable then please contact me and we can take it from there.
