So what do women think men want in a BOAT that is different from what they want in a BOAT?

Now you have narrowed the question down it might get more interesting.

If the boat is your home, it should be clean, organised, efficient, comfortable and economical to run.
I certainly enjoy my bathroom time, I like to take care of myself, so a well appointed bathroom is important to me.
Galleys are a tool to perform a task. Always more pleasurable when its organised and serves the purpose well. Same for a bed.

For sale signs are actively discouraged.

I love my wife!!!

We don't know what she wants yet. Galley up or galley down? Longer-older boat vs shorter-newer. Finding out may be expensive, but all we have to go on now is a desire to cruise with our kids. Hopefully, preferences will emerge that are within our budget.

Her desire for square footage and lack of desire for a good strong heel will keep us on a multi.

I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we both want each other on board along with our kiddos while they are still young!!! Other than that, the sky is the limit for now.

What do women think men want? did I get that right? Well this woman thinks men want a good binnacle to mount the latest toys (ie electronics), all the tools he needs to work on the projects, an engine that doesn't smoke, hard bottom inflatable with an outboard that will get up on a plane easily. Most men want quality in a boat, something they can trust. A good turn of speed, roller furling, nice sail area, cockpit reefing... hmm this may of morphed into what I want, is that a Freudian slip?

Well anyways, whatever women think men want, I hope men get what they think they want. You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you might find you get what you need. (name that tune)

I am a male member of Ocean Girl's soulmates group. What I think I want in a boat is a confident woman with whom to share the joys and tribulations of chasing the horizon. The specific physical attributes of the boat in which to do this are a matter of compromise, patience, and (unfortunately) money.

ok, so a nice bathroom, galley, bed, a bunch of boys toys and a good supply of intimate fun thats cheap and easy to run and you guys are gonna be happy?

I am grateful that my lovely wife is enthusiastic about our boat and cruising plans. Whenever a "boat buck" or two becomes available, there is always an argument along these lines:

Radar (me) - New cushions (her)
Watermaker (me) - Pretty paint job (her)
Upgrade rigging (me) - Bigger refrigerator (her)
Spare sails (me) - 22" TV and DVD (her)

Again, I and grateful to have a sailing partner in my wife so guess who usually wins?
