the kiddo on the paddleboard!
I've been spending more and more time on the paddle board. Quasi-dinghy and although it's the size of a tank it's a terrific way to enjoy the water for us. Kind of a long and boring video, but here's our little 23 month old and me banging around in the chop a little bit.

Great vid Eric! You cover a lot of water in a short time. Cora seems to really enjoy the trip too!

Yeah they're surprisingly fast, and all of that was into a ~15 knot headwind. Maybe making 3 knots? You can do 5 easy if you're not smashing your head into a breeze.

Great pic and great video. Born and raised in Coronado, and that vid makes me so homesick I can't take it. I would love to be in your place paddling my two year old through the bay....
...great stuff...

Here's our 8 year old paddling at Santa Cruz Island last week. Can't get him off the thing.

Re: the kiddo on the paddleboard!
We bought inflatable SUPs for our cruise in Alaska this summer. We LOVE these things. Stable. Good exercise. And a great way to check out the anchorage.

That Big Earl SUP looked perfect for the Airstream. sadly, I am well over the 200 lb rating.

FWIW, NRS also makes a "Big Baron" for larger weight ratings. I haven't used either, but the reviews are good for both. I've been looking, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Re: the kiddo on the paddleboard!
Found another company who makes them that can handle 250-300 lbs. Even their small one will handle 200 lbs.
The guy has a really funny video about one of the models. He bounces them off rocks while surfing, drives a Toyota truck over one, etc.

Re: the kiddo on the paddleboard!
I paddle the Big Baron. I'm 6'2" 230lbs and blessed with a complete lack of balance or grace. I feel really stable on the Big Baron even in a little chop. I also paddled my wife's board, the Big Earl, and I was a little shaky but totally fine in flat water.
We just bought these so no long term impressions yet. But so far, we're really happy with them.
