Tender as checked in luggage

Friends,
Any experience with travelling on a flight with a tender as checked in luggage. Any recommendations for a tender. I'm thinking of buying a Takacat 340LX and checking that in. 2 bags , comes under 50lbs each. But the bag dimensions exceed 62 inches (L+W+D) and that for some airlines is a no-no.
Any creative ideas by folks who have done this with a standard economy ticket?
Thank you

I'm not sure what 'recommendations' or 'creative ideas' there could be. Either the bag IS or ISN'T is within the size limits.

Most airlines simply charge for oversized (and overweight) luggage. for example, Southwest charges $200 for each bag between 63-80 inches.

Which is cheaper...... shipping it or flying as checked luggage for $400?

Some airlines make exceptions for oversize and/or overweight sporting equipment (skis, surfboards, etc.)
for example https://www.alaskaair.com/content/tr...ting-equipment
You might have the oddest looking inflatable surfboard (Kayak? Canoe?) in the world
I'd just call the airline and ask, but might help to refer to it as as inflatable water sports equipment instead of a "yacht tender".

I took a used Quicksilver 240 inflatable as "Sporting Goods" no problem with Easyjet from UK to Greece.

Didn't take the seat or pump so was under 30kg.

Plenty of inflatable paddle boards, wing kites etc were in queue for sporting good so no issue with "inflatable boat".
