SE Asia with a dog

Hi everybody! We are planning to cruise through SE Asia later in the year with our dog, an English Spaniel. From reading the previous posts here, I understand that passing through on a "dont ask dont tell" strategy should mostly work. However, would like to hear about the places where people may have encountered issues of being boarded by the officials, and questions being raised about the pet, and how have you dealt with these. Specifically, am a bit worried about Singapore, knowing it to both be very serious about its laws and having heavy quarantine requirements for pets... Do they allow dogs to stay on board in the marina without being imported through customs or am I going to have a problem there? Thanks in advance!!!
