We are getting ready to head out soon and will be making a trip through French Polynesia. We have a pet cat that will hopefully be coming with. Does anyone have any experience with bringing their cat into FP? We have been able to find plenty of info on many other countries just not there.
Afaik, there will be a quarantine period for the cat. A while back, it was only 2 months, but that is NOT current--what it is now, I don't know. Bring rabies certificate. Otherwise, there are a few CF members in FP now, perhaps one of them could check for you.

It calls for animals coming in to be identifiable by having a tattoo. (I believe implanted microchips are also permitted.) They have to be up to date on their rabies and other shots, etc., and there is a quarantine period - though it does not specify the length - possibly a month.
This site: J'emm?ne mon animal en Polyn?sie fran?aise - EuroVetoClic conseils v?t?rinaires animaux talks about being able to visit your pet during its quarantine period. Once, and only once during the quarantine period.
Many islands in the SoPac have very fragile ecosystems. New Zealand is going to great lengths to curtail invasive mammals. Researching the actual government sites will give you better information than internet hearsay. You may want to re-think bringing a cat.
