Panama and Dogs...
We are thinking about going to Panama for hurricane season, but we also have 3 dogs, and finding proper requirements for dogs entering Panama is turning out to be challenging.
Does anyone have any insight / experience on bringing pets to Panama?

Best to email the Department of Biosecurity, Customs or Quarantine for Panama. They’ll give you the full steps and forms you need.

Re: Panama and Dogs...
I am a veterinarian and have recently left Panama....I do not have dogs on board but have much contact with people with pets. I have not heard of any problems or specific requirements unique to Panama...several in our marina have had dogs in and out with standard vaccination and health certificates issued within 6 months. If you are on the pacific side, look into Vista Mar marina for hurricane season...very cheap and nice. Also, you get many marina discounts by joining the Panama Posse, not an advertisement, just a practical observation....can save you 30-50% at some marinas. Safe sailing.

And please share whatever you find!
I need to pass through the Canal with a labrador later this year, so any info you get would help.

Ha ha, spoken like an Aussie! There is really no "bio security" here in Panama. There no doubt is some appropriate paperwork, but Ive not done it (have for several countries, but not Panama).
I would be more concerned about what the imported dogs might catch here!

Haha you know what I mean! Whoever comes to your boat when you first check in😁
Doggo will be kept on the lead when I come through Panama... can’t have him picking something up locally!

Re: Panama and Dogs...
Most of my check ins to Panama, no one has visited the boat.
But best to have the paperwork just in case.
