We use a toaster daily, it is a most. All the toasters I've looked at lately are , to me, are very large. Not having much room on the counter and for storage it must be a small one. I would even like one of those old style flip the toast toaster. I would like it to be electric. Any ideas will be very much appreciated. Thanks. Diane

I was looking at the toasters in Walmart a couple of days ago most were large but there was a small electric model in the group. I don't remember the brand if I go there in the next couple of days I'll post it.

There are hundreds of toasters on eBay, new and used. Many retro models, small. Wattage ranges from about 800 to 1600. Commercial models, too. And, stainless steel.

I ended up with a larger toaster than what I really wanted onboard because of the dismal performance of the low powered smaller ones. I do not like dried bread instead of toast which is basically what will happen if the elements can't produce enough heat. If anyone finds a good toaster that produces good toast (not dried bread) please post it as I would swap my deluxe toaster in a flash for one using less space.

I have used those methods in the past with success when I had a boats with Flame type burners. Doesn't work too well with an electric stove. LOL

Try Dollar General, I ran across one the other day and replaced my previous Dollar General toaster that was 4 yrs old, cause it was beat up, but still worked. I keep it at the store and it is perfect for a small little space.

By the way they are tough little things to. It has been dropped, knocked off the counter and carried away by the dog who promptly dropped it on the concrete floor when the newspaper connected with his butt!

We recently purchased one of these on the way back from our honeymoon. I missed having toast and thought this would be a good, low-energy-consuming option. Two months later and it's covered in rust.

I don't eat toast a lot but I do miss being able to make it when I need it. Let us know what you decide on Diane!

We bought a $20 stainless steel stove top toaster online. I just hated that thing. It sounded like a great idea, but the toast burned easily and was always unevenly done. I ended up using the well seasoned cast iron pan instead, or a couple of times the broiler on the gas oven. After four months of cruising and cursing it, I put it in the stuff-to-take-off-the-boat pile.
