Looking for boating families near Tampa

Next Thursday (Aug 30th) our family of five will be moving aboard our boat to start a year long boating adventure. We will be spending September and October in the Tampa Bay Area as we finalize things on our boat and wait out hurricane season before heading to The Caribbean for the winter.

As often as possible we’d love to meet up with other boating families. Our kids are ages 13, 10 and 7.

You can learn more about us on our family website JarvisAdventure.com

Hi guys. We are a family of 4, unfortunately not quite in the Tampa area. We're located at Merritt Island on the east coast, and our plans sound extremely similar. Would love to exchange notes. Our daughters are 12 and 14.

If interested we could meet halfway, or either one of our family happens to be on the other coast we could meetup. PM me for info/details, lets stay in contact. You can check us out at seanicroute.com

Hi. Any leads on family friendly marinas that our Lagoon 450 catamaran would fit at? I’m starting a thread, but just In case y’all are seeing this.

Bringing the boat to Florida in January, family of 8. Kids 9, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2months.

We’ll be leaving Florida in November to spent the winter in the Bahamas/Caribbean and won’t be back until March. Hasn’t been that hard to find marinas for a cat. 1 of 3 marinas handle cats no problem. Family friendly? Haven’t seen a marina yet with other kids, but doesn’t seem to be a problem.

Thanks for the reply. My mental default was the greater Miami area, but I think pricing and anti-livaboard trends in that area will drive us away. I will start calling around Tampa Bay. Maybe we’ll see you all.

Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda is kid friendly. There's one or two full time kid boats and usually a few more transients. Only down side is you need a car if you'll be there for long as it is 20 minutes to get anywhere.
