Re: Boats V's Babies

Awesome post! I'm looking to do something similar. I have a large fridge/deepfreeze on my starboard side. The fridge is front access the deep freeze is top access. 5'2" long and about 4' deep, about 4' high from the deck. I plan on getting a custom mattress and building a crib/little person loft bedroom on top. Currently the space is mostly used for accumulating junk.

Hey guys...

When constructing your cribs, take a peek at this attachment for 16CFR 1508 Crib requirements

It has some good info about bar spacing and such... Tough to read, but 2-3/8" is what you're after... Maybe some other things you hadn't thought about...

Might want to use netting rather than bars, if you're going to be at sea.

Re: Boats V's Babies

Spacing was taken from his own cot at home...... appreciate the comment reference netting, but actually he has developed a style of holding on to the bars, whilst he sleeps..... he has slept through some 3 meter swells, and healthy wind so far!.....

Nice!

We have a small settee in the aft cabin that has bub lee cloth, but your idea looks like it could double as a playpen of sorts as well.

Playpen/Cage....... but seriously, somewhere safe to leave bub when it gets busy....

we have now made the cockpit a playpen too, courtesy of a cut to fit soft mat, for the young fella to play on..... he's still not 100% at sitting up!

Oh- to have a cockpit big enough for a play space.

Your Fantasia 35 is bigger than my Huon 33, but I do have a great Cockpit!
