Hal,
To think I just sent you a "well done - great tutorial"
What are you talking about?
Are you researching the Perfect Margarita? That is another thread!

I thought the title would get more women looking into this thread and Black Bart was a true pirate and I believe the history books say a couple of attractive gals that were on his boat got him in alot of trouble. Back then women on board were supposed to be bad luck. He did not live very long. I'm sure glad that times have changed. A good woman on board is worth her weight in gold. Mine can outsail me any day!

LOL if Ole Black Bart were alive today sailing around on his Jenneau Sun Fizz Or Formosa 51 he would likely have posts on all the Cruising Forums that read something like:

"Crew Wanted; must be attractive female (blonde Brunnette or Redhead preffered), excellent cooks, tidy and able to single handedly hoist and douse the Spinnaker while pouring my Black Strap Rum. *** Nore**The more attractive, the less the previous requirements apply. Please send picture and favorite recipe."

Hmm, actually I might post that over one the "other forum" see if I get any bites

Funny how some superstitions apply still today and others go straight out the window. I for one would never sail/travel without my wife. I would sail on a Friday. I am a soldier who naturally steps off on his left foot "Left, Right, Left, Right....." so I would likely step onto a boat with my left foot. And then again there are some I would obey, like naming my boat "Whip The Wind" or something foolish like that.

Sample Superstitions

marine superstitions and nautical myths
