Yellow Flame on Propane Force 10

I have a smoky yellow flame on my Propane Force 10 gas stove.

How can I get it to burn with a blue flame again?

Have you already checked the pressure in the line is correct and cleaned the burner?

Try cleaning the underside of the burners then check your aeration.. usually a slide or screw near the injector end of the burner feed pipe.

Did this happen suddenly upon a tank change? Could be contamination or a different gas/mix.

Or it sounds like not enough oxygen - did the regulator air control get bumped or covered? Look for an open slot on the pipe leading from the regulator into the grill. There should be air allowed in with the gas at this point.

The problem occoured AFTER I cleaned out the jets. The burners were very weak and I cleaned out the jets and that made things a lot better....however, there is always yellow flame at the tips making things sooty.

The gas is the same....and works well in the BBQ. One burner I did not touch, as the gas was fine to it, remains working perfectly.

Could I have made the jet hole too big? Apart from buying new jets is there any soultion?

Also...re aeration....there seems to be no obvious "screw" to adjust anything. The "jet" just screws into the body of the stove and there is no way to access the inside. Could the "adjustment" be how far this jet is screwed in?

Sounds like the gas/air mixture it is possible that you made the jets a bit larger in the process. Try adjusting the mixture. there may be a rotating collar on the feed tube coming from the valve. Also check for dirt in the feed tube. It may take some tinkering with to get it just right.

I would start with cleaning the burner. Big flame our stove also burns yellow. No smoke thpough. I think LPG burns smoke less anyhow. Must be something else burning?

Just a thought, Ive always used a jet cleaning tool used for cleaning welding tips, these come with an assortment of sizes to do the job! better then an old wire or drill bit!! will let ya clean the jets with out removeing to much material and causeing a problem like this! Now ya must adjust the air flow as others have said above, with the sliding sleeve made for this! I find that if ya open all the burners at the lowest setting and then adjusting the air mixture works better for me ! Just keep tweeking it will come around! But stop by your local gas welding store for a multi-tip cleaning tool ! The last one I bought cost 2 dollars, but that was a long time ago! LOL Have fun you will get it

The orifices (jets) should not be cleaned with anything but an alcohol soaking. Wire or welding tips will ruin them. I think the Force Tens take a 7mm socket. Remove the orifice and soak in alcohol.

My guess is, you have damaged the injector, they are very small for propane probably around .1mm in diameter. If you are sure the mixer tube(from injector to burner) is free of debris, the burners are clean and gas pressure is about normal, then you are left with only air mixture to check, too much air and you get popping or too little air and you have a yellow flame.
Repairing injectors is near impossible unless you are prepared to weld/braze over the injector and then drill the correct size, I've tried it before it is a waste of time, just replace them.

Over aeration will NEVER result in a luminous (yellow) flame.

Used to service boilers and when it starts burning yellow you get all sorts of carbon deposit problems. Normally cured with a good clean around the jets and adjusting the air flow percentage.
