What's for Christmas Dinner?

We were rushed out of Aberdeen last Thursday for a job in the middle of the North Sea (56 06N, 04 15E). Weather is horrible, and there is no weather window to get the job done until the 26th.
40 kt winds for the past 4 days, and the same forecast for the next few days, so Xmas dinner is pretty much cancelled, maybe turkey wraps for dinner and a turkey curry for supper.
On the plus side, we were sent out of port so quickly we missed our provision delivery which included the sprouts yippee

We love brussel sprouts... Try them braised with duck bacon or , if you have a water bath, sous vide for about 45 min at 183f followed by a quick toss in a pan of duck fat with cracked black pepper

Alligator stew and craw fish pie, a la Louisiana... Nahhh...Angus Rib-eye steak, a la Texas style...that's more like it! Yumm!

I did indeed, bean sprouts are great, brussel sprouts should just be abolished.

You are making my point. Generous amounts of fat and/or spice are required to make brussel sprouts edible. Likewise, you could disguise them with wasabi or dip then in chocolate, but the sprout inside is still a brussel sprout.

Brussel sprouts! I grew up with those, though I can't remember eating one in the last 50 years. I guess there must be a reason for that!
