Water dispenser for the chest fridge?

I went against the reviews on Amazon and bought this.

https://www.arrowhomeproducts.com/pr...age-dispenser/

They all said it's a cheap piece of junk that will fail. Cracked plastic, leaky seals, all of it.

Well I ordered two. One arrived cracked. The other feels like it's going to crumble in my hands. But for the past week it's been working.

It fits pretty perfectly into my fridge. The handle is in the right place. I'm happy. But I know it's going to fail.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a better built version of this? I can't find anything good online.

Try here

You get their paper catalog for a while, but they have the best prices on nalgene and other plastic containers. I would imagine they stand behind their products as most sales are for commerical.

Yeah looks like the same product. Thanks for checking though.

It's just made of such thin plastic that I'm certain it will crack soon. And the valve and cap feel like they'll warp quickly as well.

I'm hoping to find something more robust, but my expectations are quite low 😉

We've had one of these for car camping for about 10 years. Been completely abused and still works great. https://amzn.to/38A9KZ4 (Reliance Aquapak 2.5G)

Wow, Pricey.

I would suggest an alternative that is almost free. We put these in recycle regularly. Liquid laundry detergent containers. The are made to be on their side and have a valve built in. Do your laundry. Wash thoroughly and reuse until they fail. They seem pretty tough to me.

It's much bigger, but the Brita fridge dispensers work very well, have a filter, and the one I have has lasted several years so far with no signs of fatigue. They come in different sizes but are relatively expensive ($40+ I think). Filter replacements get costly but they are perfectly functional without one if you don't need or want it.

Years ago I bought a container from "the water store" in San Diego to use for fresh water, not city tap. That container ran about 20 bucks and was indestructible. Had a big opening on top so you could clean it out easily. They have stores in multiple states I believe or you might just find a store that sells water in your area.

That is a pretty sweet water dispenser, but unfortunately I can't lift it in and out of my chest fridge.
