Vegan Galley

My wife has started a website with vegan recipes and island restaurants that serve vegan food. She is a vegan and I mainly eat vegan because of it (and very happy to do so). The site is called Vegan Galley - Welcome!. It is really in the starting stages and she hopes to have a lot more information out there.

If you are interested, please check it out and let us know any relative feedback you might have. If you do know of any restaurants that we should include, please let us know.

Thanks!

Marty

Re: Vegan Galley

Thanx for sharing this Msiic. I tried vegan but could not hang. Still a veggie though.

Re: Vegan Galley

Try | Post Punk Kitchen | Vegan Baking & Vegan Cooking. That is where we get a lot of recipes.

Re: Vegan Galley

I love seeing other vegan lifestyles afloat! I just posted a question within the forum asking how hard it would be to pursue our plant based diets while cruising. And I too, LOVE the Post Punk Kitchen. The Veganomicon is a great resource for vegan recipes also.

Many sites allow you to search for vegan recipes, for example Recipe.com.

Also lots of cook books out there. Amazon lets you preview most books and I also find the user reviews helpful. One of my favorite cook books is Vegan Fire and Spice.

We just tried a new recipe for chakalaka, which is a quick African dish made by spicing up baked beans and adding vegetables. We bought some organic canned baked beans and cauliflower, and tried one of the many recipes online. It's easy and good tasting, so we'll be cooking that again. Search the web for: chakalaka cauliflower

Hi! I find the Happy Herbivore cookbooks by Lindsay Nixon to be good, simple vegan food that's easy to put together in a tight galley. Dreena Burton has some great cookbooks as well (her website is plant-powered kitchen). Oh She Glows blog has some amazing vegan recipes. I would suggest finding a blog that you like and check out their blog roll to find other similar websites. Hope that helps!
