Re: The Three Best Cookbooks for Travelling with a Small Galley !

On Sunspot Baby, I have an old Ship to Shore cookbook and a Caribbean cookbook that someone gave me as a boat gift. I use both occasionally, but (being an old fashioned girl) I keep my recipes on an external drive connected to a laptop instead of a pad.

In the "Cruising Directory" are over 250 cruising recipes, almost all of them boat tested, most of them mine but some from friends. All of my home-based recipes are in another directory, probably over a thousand, in numerous categorical folders. Of course some are duplicates from the Cruising Directory.

We have an inexpensive printer on board - I print the recipe I want to use, prop it up in the galley. I make notes on it, splash sauce on it, and when I'm finished, I enter any changes in the computer.

We have an extensive cookbook collection at home, and many of those on my computer are from those books: Joy of Cooking, Better Homes & Gardens which we received as a wedding gift 50 years ago, Essential Pepin, etc.
