St. Maarten or Bermuda?

Hi forum friends,
I am leaving St. Maarten towards Bermuda and across to the Azores.
Where would it be best to stock up for the crossing (cost wise) - St. Maarten or Bermuda?
Last time was there, Bermuda was very expensive (about 2 years ago for the same crossing)

Thanks to all replies

Grand Marche in Cole Bay St Martin is as nice as most US supermarkets. Prices are island prices(everything comes in on a boat or an airplane) but it has a great selection and is very reasonable. Also St Martin has a Westerbeke dealer, a Yanmar dealer and all kinds of services in case you need them before you hop across the pond.

And there is a new very large supermarket just east of the Dutch side bridge near the casino. You can't miss it. Then there are quite a few smaller food markets on both sides of the island.

Re: St. Maarten or Bermuda?

Bermuda is expensive if you shop at the retail supermarkets. But there are a few bulk stores that have low margins. One near the machine shop at the top of Barrack Hill. Another at Black Watch pass on the North Shore road near Hamilton. PJ's warehouse near the Mills Creek boatyard. Hunt's in Warwick at Khyber Pass. Tell Sandra at the Ordnance Island harbor masters office how you want to shop, and she will arrange it.

If you really want to stock up, this is where to go:
Prime Cash & Carry - Wholesaler | Warehouse Supermarket | Buy your grocery at best wholesale prices | Fresh Vegetables, Frozen Meats, Frozen Sea food, Chocolates, Cigarettes, Liquors, Wines

Otherwise, Grand Marche is the cheapest with the best overall selection.

Hi SY CoSinus,

Personnally I would ressupply in St Marteen. You can go local and bargain , the win is cheap, the cheese is cheap, food such as cold cuts, saussages etc is not expensive.

Ps Sorry for my english

Re: St. Maarten or Bermuda?

Thanks for all your replies. Did some provisioning in St. Maarten and made it to Bermuda but have to re-provision again here.
Thanks for your comments and tips.
See ya on the water
