Soda Stream and Real Coke Syrup

Who has tried using real Coke syrup with their Soda Steam?

How did it work out?

I have used the Pepsi one and tastes very much like Pepsi but I am no expert!

Yeah I am convert to the Pepsi syrup mix your own. I like the mixing chemicals aspect and I usually less syrup and more fizz than recommended

Re: Soda Stream and Real Coke Syrup

We used the root beer syrup and was OK. My issue was we bought the mixing cap for the bottles and filled right from the 20 lb tank, not nearly as good as the Sodastream. Next time, I would like to connect the Sodastream DIRECTLY to the big tank. Has anyone found an adapter to do this?

If you want to push the limits of your Soda Stream do a Google search for bigclive sodastream. Clive has tried several interesting with his Soda Stream with varying (and sometimes humorous) results.

I'm a bit late here , but yes i have used the coke syrup , and yes it went very well .
In fact , it was this particular syrup that was used to promote the Sodastream when i brought it , and was so good , it convinced me to purchase one .
I drink a lot of coke , and to be honest i couldn't tell any dicernible difference from the shop bought product , and been using the syrup on a regular basis since . The only real problem i've come across , is recently finding a supplier for the syrup itself . My usual supplier for some reason seems to have stopped stocking it . I do have a problem with lack of fizz , but i think this is more likely to do with me , than the syrup itself . The coke appears to go flat quite quickly if left .

Other than that , only advice i would offer , is make sure the syrup you use carries the coke branding .

Otherwise ,

Any home brew shop will have the adapter that allows you to connect a pressure hose to the Sodastream fitting.
