Seaward Princess LPG Stove/Oven question

Hello,

We just installed our new two-burner Seaward Princess.

A quick question for anyone who might have one. It came with one rack, that looks like it can be adjusted to different positions. If I put it on the higher position (nearer the top of the oven) can I use the metal rack that is attached to the oven (and covers the gas flame below it) as a cooking rack too?

I'd like to be able to have two things cooking at once. Or, do I need to buy an additional rack?

Many thanks!

Which part would you like to use as a second rack?

Charlotte, we have a Seaward 325 wall oven. At the top of the spec sheet is the word "Princess" but the stove has no markings of that kind.

We only have one rack, and it's right in the middle. For air circulation, that works best. If I make pizzas for company, I make them in a 9x13 pan and we eat one while the other one bakes. We don't have a toaster, but we make great toast by sliding a sheet of foil with the toast-to-be into the very bottom of the oven, below the burner. Watched closely and turned to perfection, we do pretty well.

Dutch Baby is a favorite oven pancake, and much easier than standing over a skillet and flipping. A 9x13 pan again, and it comes out golden, puffy, and scrumptious. Send me a pm if you would like to have the recipe for pizza and Dutch Baby. But I digress.

Getting back to the oven, The old one was a Princess as well. Probably about 1993 vintage. It had seen better days, and the new one fit the hole.

I've found that most propane ovens have a plate over the burner to spread the heat throughout the oven. That may be what your "lower rack" is. On my old Force Ten the thick aluminum plate over the burner tends to bend after a year or two and the oven will not heat up properly. The solution is to flatten the plate again.

It's part #30, Oven bottom. Perhaps I'll just buy another #31 Rack, Oven, so I can have two, you know what I mean?

Thanks for the help all.
