Saving water tip

We just installed two Smart Faucets, one in the front head and one on the gallery sink. I absolutely love them. You attach it directly to your normal faucet. When doing dishes, I leave the faucet open, but water only comes out when I press on the bar, leaving my hands free to wash the dishes. It saves so much water and I don't have to keep opening the faucet. There are lots of brands out there, we purchased ours from Smart Gadgets, no affiliation, for less then $10 each.

Re: Saving water tip

Good on you Arte Lauri,

Thank you for the post.

On our boat, it's different, 'cause we only have pressure water for showering, and the washdown pump. Our galley and head sink have foot pumps, and with them, of course the hands are free.

Still, whatever way a cruiser has of saving water is a good thing in the world, and good on you for posting about it.

Ann

Re: Saving water tip

I've seen those things. A great solution for those without foot pumps.

We installed foot pumps in the head and galley before leaving the dock drastically reducing water consumption.

Re: Saving water tip

A freshwater saving tip:

In the galley, install a salt water tap which is tied into your pressure washdown system.
