Provisioning: St Croix or Vieques ?

I'm in Christiansted and headed for Vieques. Which has easier and more affordable provisioning?

Provisioning in Christiansted, USVI, is very good, with several discount type supermarkets.

Ie ➥ St. Croix Grocery Stores, Villa & Boat Provisioning in the Caribbean, Grocery Shopping on St. Croix

And see ➥
St. Croix

Puerto Rico also has everything you could want.

Some folks have all the luck.
Al & Michelle are trying to decide between St. Croix and Vieques.
Peri and I are trying to decide between the Winn-Dixie in Crescent City and the Publix in Palatka.
Have a good time guys.

I'm in STX and everything except rum and sun is expensive.
I'd give PR serious consideration.

I dunno.

I was in Vieques about 8 years ago, diving - not sailing. But as I recall there was a hole lot of not much there. I kinda like that. I really like Vieques.

But.....Not the first place I would think of going to provision, unless there have been some pretty good changes.

Lots of wild cattle and horses. Watched a couple of locals lasso a horse out of a subcompact with a sun roof.

Do the bioluminescent bay if you can, especially on a new moon.

A lot of people take the ferry from Vieques and purchase their groceries in PR proper.
the island doesn't have a huge variety of large provisioning options. you can take the ferry and catch a cab, rent a car and do all you wish in Fajardo. There are SEVERAL large grocery stores. (Fajardo is the Town where the Ferry dock is, and several excellent marinas and places to purchase boat stuff.
