Provisioning in Oyster Pond, St Martin

Hi all - we'll be in Oyster Pond in St Martin in about 10 days and are wondering what grocery stores are nearby or a taxi-ride away for re-provisioning. Thanks for any and all advice!!

I haven't sailed into St Maarten but have vacationed there many times. Le Grand Marche is probably the largest store on the island. Spices you can do well on in Marigot.

See this link: http://www.legrandmarche.net/YachtProvisioning.aspx. There are many cabs in the area too. There are several resorts within a mile of Oyster Pond.

Good luck!

Agree Grand Marche is the best place in sxm. Cabs every where about 20 buck ride or local busses are 2.00 bucks. Have used both with little problems.

Re: Provisioning in Oyster Pond, St Martin

Nothing is nearby Oyster Pond and taxis are expensive. Its cheaper to rent a car for the day and go to Grand Marche in Phillipsberg.

If you like French wine then you should dribble over to the French side and go to one of the suppermarkerts in Marigot (Simply in Sandy Ground is great. The huge supermarket in Grand Case is even better). You wont spend more than $10 per bottle of really excellent wines. Excellent!

Grande Marche Phillipsberg 18 2.078'N 63 3.861'W
Grande Marche Simpson Bay 18 2.576'N 63 5.113'W
Simply - Sandy Ground 18 3.735'N 63 5.648'W
Marigot 18 4.307'N 63 4.814'W

If memory serves there is a small store on the dock across from Busby's. Not sure if they would have all you need.
