Anyone make their own pasta aboard? Would love a press, anyone have one that didn't rust out too fast.

Have not tried either but found a couple made of stainless steel that should do reasonably well on a boat. Check the reviews of these on Amazon.

Why do you want to press your pasta? I have a nice bearing press which I suppose could flatten out curled pasta.

I have a pasta machine that I use on board. No problems yet with rust - only problem is we eat too much great tasting pasta.

I talked seaworthy lass into buying one and she's spending the winter in the med. apparently they now also have a problem with too much great tasting pasta..........

Carstenb, do you have a brand? We thought to just spray the press down with PAM ( spray edible oil) and keep it sealed up in a ziplock to keep rust at bay.

Yes, fresh pasta is yum. Tossed with some fresh grilled veggies, herbs, olive oil, salt, pepper..yumm

no I don't have a brand. it is one I bought in a store in copenhagen. I've never had a rust problem, but I also have followed the instructions to not wash it, just use a brush to brush off dried pasta. I suspect your idea of a little PAM would work fine.

fresh pasta just beats anything else hands down
