Origo 3000 gimbals

I have acquired an Origo 3000 that I would like to install and I was wondering if the gimbals are worth it. I've heard rumor that they don't gimbal that well because a pot of water makes it too top heavy. Is this true at all or just a rumor?

thanks!

Never had a problem with ours, but you have to make sure the pot is centered correctly.

I've had 2 Origo 3000, and they are crap without the gimbals. If the boat is heeled over, the flame escapes under the stainless top cover around the burners, which gets burning hot, while the pot remains cold. If you plan on using it at sea, get the gimbal!
