I second the suggestion of just keeping and learning to use the pressurized alcohol stove. I have one and have used it for many years without any problem. Proper preheating is important. Alcohol fires can be extinguished with water but I have never had to do that.

I'd consider converting the existing gimballed alcohol cook top to electric induction cook top. Safer, more efficient and relatively easy though you may have to buy new pans.
