New to Freeze-Dried Food ?

If you're new to freeze-dried foods, note that some are ready to hydrate with hot or cold water, then eat, while others are hydrated, then cooked. I especially like the raw pork chops, freeze-dried English peas and raw egg mixtures but it would be an awful shock if you didn't realize you have to rehydrate, then cook them.

i found some dried mushrooms are better when nit rehydrated but fried in olive oil with onions and garlic first, then added to the food while there is still some liquid left in cooking cycle.... just an addendum... some foods dont do this well.... mushrooms do, and keep forever.
